March D2L Update
Changes over Spring Break
Awards Tool (Badging and Certificates)
Over spring break the D2L team will implement the Awards tool in D2L. With this tool, instructors can award badges or certificates to students for specific accomplishments in class. Students can export the badges and add them to social media sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. Certificates in PDF format can be awarded to students and printed by students.
Please visit our help page for Information on using and setting up the Awards tool for your course:
If you have questions about the Awards Tool, its use and how to set it up in your course, please contact the D2L Support Team. Contact information is at the end of this announcement.
New versions of the D2L New Instructor Orientation, the D2L New Student Orientation and Respondus LockDown browser self-registration courses will be released. These courses are updated and model a course template that we are currently developing for instructor use. Additionally, the New Student Orientation site uses the Awards tool to award a certificate of completion. Instructors may consider requiring students to take this orientation course and submitting their certificate to an assignment folder. Anybody can register for a Self-Registration course by clicking on the Self Registration link in the navigation bar on their D2L home page (the page one lands on after logging in with a UA NetID).
