Position Announcement OIA Faculty Development Graduate Assistant
 
The Office of Instruction and Assessment is looking for a 0.5 FTE graduate assistant for the 2017-2018 academic year.  The focus will be to develop experience with and contribute to the work of educational/faculty development on the UA campus.  The GA will work within the Faculty and Future Faculty Development team. This position will be a 0.5 Graduate Assistantship with associated benefits.
 
Job Responsibilities:  Faculty development support services under mentorship of OIA staff (e.g., workshop and/or minicourse facilitation, consultations, course reviews, class observations).  Support for teaching, development, and assessment of courses in the Certificate in College Teaching.  Development of instructional materials to support evidence-based teaching practice.  Develop own competencies in the scholarship of teaching and learning and educational/faculty development.  Regular communication with OIA team-members, OIA staff, and members of wider UA community.  Regular participation in Faculty and Future Faculty Development team meetings.  Support for other OIA projects/initiatives, as needed.  
 
Minimum Qualifications:  Current student in a UA graduate program enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours of graduate coursework.  Completion of IA 697a (Learner-Centered Teaching) or a discipline-based pedagogy course.  One year of teaching-assistant experience at the college level or teaching at the pre-college level.  Strong English written and oral communication skills.  Evidence of ability to work as a member of a collaborative team.  Evidence of ability to complete work with minimal supervision.  Evidence of ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.  Eligibility to work in the United States.
 
Preferred Qualifications:  Completion of Certificate in College Teaching program.  At least one year of teaching experience at the college level.  Working knowledge of D2L and integrated technologies.
