UA's YouTube Channel
In the fall of 2007, YouTube began offering YouTube EDU. YouTube EDU is YouTube's way of hosting college and university educational videos.
The OIA (formerly the LTC) developed the UA's EDU channel and it went public in January 2008. While the channel is now managed by UA Communications, the OIA continues to support faculty and departments interested in sharing content with high school students, college undergraduates and the University's extended community. With YouTube averaging 12 billion views a month from within the U. S., it is an outstanding way to provide education resources. Trying to reach international students? Consider the UA's YouTube channel as the perfect way to do it.
Our channel promotes student life and the educational experience in many way. UA students share their experiences in the classroom, residence halls, and through their campus activities. We include videos of
- great teachers
- award winning faculty and researchers
- public lectures presented by UA faculty and researchers
- public lectures by invited speakers from around the world
- videos describing the types of skills students acquire in the UA's many programs
We create YouTube playlists that organize our content by your program, events and subject matter. Here is a list of the UA's playlists. It's also a good way to see the enormous amount of educational content the UA provides the greater Arizona community and visitors across the Internet.
UA departments and colleges are welcome to develop their own YouTube channels and OIA consultants are available to help. The advantage of participating in the UA channel is that we can upload larger and longer videos than afforded to standard channels and you are part of a UA-branded resource.
Consult the FAQs for an overview to the UA's YouTube EDU channel, along with the answers to questions about participating and the recommended technical specs for contributed videos.
