Zoom, Panopto, TurningPoint, Qualtrics Webinar Series

OIA and the Collaborative and Academic Technologies teams have partnered together to offer a series of webinars on UA technologies such as Zoom, Panopto, TurningPoint, and Qualtrics. These webinars will walk you through various step-by-step tutorials on how to conduct different tasks in each program. 

All webinars will require UA Zoom account authentication to join and all of them will be recorded. If you register for a webinar, you will receive the recording of that session even if you do not attend. Some recordings may get posted up to the OIA webinar recording page. 

All webinars will consist of approximately 30-40 minutes of demonstration followed by a Q&A session. Upon submitting your registration, you should receive an email confirmation with details of how to join the webinar.

Tuesday July 27

 

  • 10am – How can TurningPoint Polling be used on campus?

    Description: In this session you will learn about various ways instructors are using TurningPoint on campus. You will get a basic overview of the various polling methods available with TurningPoint as well as what is required from students as far as equipment and costs. This session is meant to give you a broad overview of TurningPoint and will not cover any how-to’s of using TurningPoint.

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: This session is for beginners that have no prior knowledge of TurningPoint.
     
  • 2pm – Intro to Qualtrics Survey Editor

    Description: Come learn the basics of getting started in Qualtrics! Whether you’re just getting started in Qualtrics or if you’re a survey pro, this session will take you “back-to-basics” in the Qualtrics survey editor. Learn how to create a project, navigate the platform, and organize your projects.

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: NONE! Come with your curiosity and interest in how to leverage a product like Qualtrics for your classroom or business needs. This session is for beginners who wish to use Qualtrics.
     

Wednesday July 28

  • 10am – Take Attendance with TurningPoint web Polling

    Description: In this session you will learn how to use the TurningPoint web attendance feature to take quick attendance in a face-to-face or online learning environment. You will learn about taking regular attendance or using their location-based attendance feature to ensure students are within a specified location radius when checking in for attendance. You will also learn how a total attendance grade can then be exported to the D2L gradebook.

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: This session is for beginners, intermediate, or advanced users who are not familiar with TurningPoint web attendance feature. Prior knowledge should include knowing the basic overview information of TurningPoint and what equipment and costs are required to use it.
     
  • 2pm – Integrate Polling Questions into your PowerPoints!

    Description: In this session you will learn how to insert polling questions directly into your PowerPoint presentations so you can conduct polls without leaving your slideshow presentation.

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: This session is for beginners or intermediate users who have not used the PowerPoint polling feature within TurningPoint. Prior knowledge should include knowing the basic overview information of TurningPoint and what equipment and costs are required to use it as that will not be covered in this session.
     

Thursday July 29

  • 10am – Poll on the fly with Anywhere Polling!

    Description: In this session you will learn how to conduct polls using the Anywhere Polling feature within TurningPoint software. This polling feature allows you to conduct on-the-fly polling over top of any application that is open on your computer.

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: This session is for beginners or intermediate users who have not used the Anywhere Polling feature within TurningPoint. Prior knowledge should include knowing the basic overview information of TurningPoint and what equipment and costs are required to use it as that will not be covered in this session.
     
  • 2pm – Create Content and Poll all within a Web Browser

    Description: In this session you will learn how to create and conduct polls all within an internet browser using the TurningPoint web interface. This polling feature does not require any software download so you can access, create, and conduct polling on any web-enabled device!

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: This session is for beginners or intermediate users. Prior knowledge should include knowing the basic overview information of TurningPoint and what equipment and costs are required to use it as that will not be covered in this session.
     

Tuesday August 3

  • 10am – New Features of Panopto

    Description: In this session you will learn about some of the newest features that Panopto is releasing with its latest update. Some of the new features revolve around mobile devices, the embed viewer, discussions, improved sharing experience, and multi-languages just to name a few.

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: This session is for intermediate users. Since it is highlighting new features, it is best that you have a basic knowledge of how to record with Panopto as well as using the Panopto web interface to edit and share videos. Some of the new features will require that prior knowledge and we will not be covering those basics during this webinar. 
     
  • 2pm – Intro to Qualtrics Survey Flow Area

    Description: The survey flow area is where a lot of the survey magic happens! Learn how to structure your survey beyond a simple line of questions (linear surveys). Build the ‘flow’ of what happens to a respondent once they click your survey link. Learn how to access, read, and edit the ‘Survey Flow’ of your Qualtrics project.

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge:
    • Must have a basic understanding of the survey platform and/or
    • Have taken the Intro to Qualtrics Survey Editor webinar.
    • Preferred: Come with a Qualtrics survey to demo alongside with (qualtrics.arizona.edu --> Projects)

Wednesday August 4

  • 10am – Intro to Panopto Recording

    Description: In this session you will learn how to record a video within Panopto using both the Panopto Recorder software and the Panopto Capture browser-based recorder. You will also learn some basic editing techniques and how to embed a Panopto video into a D2L content module. 

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: This session is for beginners or for those that have not recorded with one or both of the Panopto recorder methods.
     
  • 2pm – Using Zoom Polls

    Description: In this session you will learn how to create and run polls within Zoom. You will learn how to create polls prior to the meeting as well as during the meeting. You will also learn how to access reports about the polls you conduct in a meeting.

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: This session is for beginners or intermediate users. Prior knowledge should include how to access Zoom either via D2L or via the web portal as well as how to schedule and start Zoom meetings.
     

Thursday August 5

  • 10am - Discover Statistics, Folder Structure, and Share Permissions within Panopto

    Description: In this session you will learn how to track certain statistics related to Panopto videos. You will also learn about Panopto folder structure and setting appropriate share permissions for those folders that apply to the videos inside that folder.

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: This session is for beginners and intermediate users. Prior knowledge should include knowing how to access Panopto and how to record or upload a video to Panopto.
     
  • 2pm - Have Students Record and Submit Videos in Panopto

    Description: In this session you will learn how to create a Panopto assignment folder in which students in your D2L course will be able to record and submit video content. You will also learn how students can directly record a Panopto video from within a discussion or assignment post.

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: This session is for beginners and intermediate users. Prior knowledge should include how to access Panopto and record with Panopto. It also would help if you understood how the folder structure works within Panopto.

  • 10am - Using Quizzes in Panopto Videos

    Description: In this session you will learn how to input quizzes in your Panopto videos for knowledge checks and to increase engagement. You will also learn how to insert those videos into D2L modules and connect them to a grade item in the gradebook.

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: This session is for beginners or intermediate users. Prior knowledge should include knowing how to record or upload a video to Panopto.
     
  • 2pm - Panopto Remote Recorder Use on Campus

    Description: In this session you will learn how to utilize the Panopto Remote Recorders that exist in the classrooms on campus. What is a Panopto Remote Recorder? It allows you to schedule and have your lectures automatically recorded on certain dates and times without you having to do any setup before each class. You will learn the difference between the normal Panopto Recorder and a Panopto Remote Recorder. You will learn about how to schedule recordings for a specific Panopto Remote Recorder.

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: This session is for beginners and intermediate users. Prior knowledge should include how to access Panopto and how folder structure works.
     

Wednesday August 11

  • 10am – Working with Zoom Recordings

    Description: In this session you will learn everything you need to know about Zoom recordings. You will learn how to access Zoom recordings from the cloud or from your local computer. You will learn about the Zoom and Panopto partnership as well as discover various share settings you can adjust for cloud recordings. You will also learn how to adjust playback ranges on cloud recordings.

    Target Audience and Pre-requisite Knowledge: This session is for beginners and intermediate users. Prior knowledge should include how to conduct and record a Zoom meeting and how to access the Zoom web portal.

  • 10am – Using Zoom Breakout Rooms

    Description: In this session you will learn how to utilize breakout rooms within a Zoom meeting. You will learn how to create breakout rooms during a meeting and apply setting options for those breakout rooms. You will learn how to assign participants to breakout rooms as well as how you can have participants choose what room they want to enter. You will learn how to pre-assign breakout rooms prior to starting a meeting.
