The Office of Instruction and Assessment can assist departments in furthering their instructional and research mission in a number of ways. We can help departments modify existing or create new certificate and degree programs by identifiying program goals and objectives, mapping those goals across curricula, and designing assessment strategies that support student success.
The OIA offers a variety of services and programs that provide instructional support and development opportunities to TAs. One-on-one consultations are available related to any pedagogical topic, issue, challenge, or concern. Workshops that address common teaching topics are offered throughout the year. TAs can request a teaching observation or a student focus group to get feedback about any aspect of their teaching.
The Office of Instruction and Assessment (OIA) is a campus resource for faculty, all other instructional personnel (including TAs), and researchers at the University of Arizona. The OIA offers support to the University’s teaching community in course development (face-to-face, hybrid and on-line courses), curriculum design, program and classroom assessment and evaluation, instructional strategies and learning technologies. This support is provided through one-on-one consultations, workshops, observations, web-resources, demonstrations, focus groups, and production services.
